Information:

The Magical Lantern Festival is taking place at Roundhay Park in Leeds this year: 2016.

The Magical Lantern Festival is billed as a spectacular fusion of art, heritage and culture. A stunning outdoor Christmas themed event, a festival of light and illumination. Visitors will follow a trail around CANAL GARDENS AND THE CHELSEA GARDENS and explore amazing giant lanterns, which represent Christmas, traditional Chinese culture and the amazing 2000-year heritage of Lantern Festivals.

Visitors can enter the festival through a giant 16 metre wide lantern entrance feature before embarking on a fascinating journey, discovering stunning lanterns in all shapes, colours and sizes from santa and reindeers to flowers and animals.

The Festival promises visitors a truly amazing experience, a visual feast of light and illumination, hidden in a corner of the park, close to Tropical World.

Visitors will see some of the most artistic and beautifully constructed lantern installations outside of China. The lanterns represent and celebrate Christmas and Chinese culture and heritage.

The entertainment area can be accessed separately from the Lantern Festival from 2pm each day so visitors can come along and enjoy these activities before entering the Lantern Festival at 4pm.
