The HESCO Garden from 2009, designed around the theme of retaining rainwater and reducing the effect of flash floods, matched Leeds City Council’s best-ever result at the show by winning a Silver Gilt Flora award.

The Monet Garden forms the entrance to the speciality gardens area at Roundhay Park - access is from Mansion Lane, just around the corner forom the Roundhay Fox pub. This garden is based upon the gardens planted by the impressionist 'Monet' at Giverny on the banks of the River Seine in France, and was introduced to the park in 1999. The gardens provide an elegant burst of colour and energy reflecting the French passion for life, with arches to walk under as you make your way to the next garden, The Alhambra.
